Marian Central Catholic High School

Coach "Wik" has 29 years of high school coaching experience, and he is currently the varsity coach at Marian Central in Woodstock, Illinois. With a record of 333-203, the 2009 season will be his 19th at Marian. The Hurricanes' 2005 Suburban Catholic Conference championship team (30-8) set the school record for victories, reaching the state Class A tournament quarterfinals. It is the third time he has led the Hurricanes all the way to the Elite Eight quarterfinal round (1998, 2004).

The 2008 team posted a 22-6 record, winning the Suburban Catholic Conference and a Class 3A Regional title. Forty-eight of Coach "Wik's" Hurricanes have graduated from his program to play collegiate baseball. Prior to Marian Central, Gregg coached at his alma mater Holy Cross High School (3 years) and Notre Dame High School (7 years).

As a college player, Gregg was a three-year letterman and starting center fielder at Northern Illinois University, and he was was selected to the Mid America Conference All-Academic team his senior season. Coaching honors include being named the 1998 Chicago Area Coach of the Year by the Illinois High School Coaches Association, and four times the Northwest Herald Baseball Coach of the Year (1995, 1998, 2004, 2005).

Coach "Wik" is a member of the Association of Professional Baseball Instructors (APBI), the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA), the National High School Baseball Coaches Association (BCA), and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). A leader with the Crystal Lake Bombers since 1998, Gregg Wikierak became Bombers' President in 2005.
